Mission
The Children's Rights Center was established based on the memorandum signed on March 25, 2021, between Shota Rustaveli State University - a public legal entity - and the United Nations Children's Fund
The mission of the Children's Rights Center is to foster the development of democratic values in children and to promote the protection of their best interests.
The objectives of the Children's Rights Center are:
- Creating, sharing knowledge about children's rights and inclusive education, and raising awareness;
- Creating an innovative platform and network for the protection of children's rights, with the involvement of educational institutions, healthcare systems, law enforcement structures, and other interested parties;
- Promoting the implementation of national and international acts regulating children's rights, through approaches based on prioritizing the best interests of the child.
The functions of the Children's Rights Center are:
- Defining the main directions of learning about children's rights and inclusive education;
- Analyzing the learning/teaching needs for individuals working with and for children;
- Implementing educational and research projects on children's rights and inclusive education, developing educational materials, methodological guidelines, and guides. Organizing discussions, thematic seminars, conferences, and working meetings;
- Preparing, developing, and implementing educational training programs for various target groups, issuing appropriate certificates;
- Establishing business relationships with relevant educational and/or training institutions, academic circles, as well as other organizations at international and local levels
