The European Master's in Children's Rights program promotes children’s rights and insures a comprehensive understanding of children’s role in today’s societies. The MA is taught in Romanian and English. Individual tutoring hours will be offered for international students.

International students might need to follow Romanian language courses offered by the University for international students. EU students can apply for a limited tuition-free places. Outside the limited tuition-free places, the fee for EU students at the BBU is 3000 RON (approx. 600 €) for one academic year payable in four installments covering general administrative costs, while for non-EU students is 220 EUR/month. Accommodation is not covered by fees. Student may apply for one-semester mobility under the Erasmus+ program.

The 2-year program, with 120 ECTS, plus 10 credit points for dissertation will usually start at the beginning of October and ends at the beginning of July with the thesis defense. Further information on eligibility criteria, fees and schedule for the admission to the program will follow upon request.

Courses are developed in a children’s rights framework and are oriented to respond to the participants’ practical and applied work experiences, with the aim of spreading socially validated scientific knowledge and promoting children’s rights in society.

The 1st semester focuses on the study of children’s rights, sociology and history of childhood.

The 2nd semester has courses on inclusive education, children and health, psychology.

The 3rd semester has courses on social policies and social services targeting children.

The 4th semester has courses on children and technology, field practice and writing the MA thesis.

In addition, the 1st and 2nd semester offer research methods classes in order to deepen and improve student’s competencies in quantitative research and qualitative methods.

During the 4th semester students engage in 48 hours of supervised field practice. They can attend workshops to enhance their practical competences in communicating, educating, playing, counseling, or otherwise assisting children. The program is completed with a final MA thesis defended in front of a committee at the beginning of July. Usually, the choice of topic for the thesis is made in the 3rd semester and the writing is finalized during the 4th semester under the supervision of the faculty member. Thesis may be written in English as well.
