WELCOME TO CREAN
THE CHILDREN’S RIGHTS EUROPEAN ACADEMIC NETWORK
CREAN is a network of more than 30 European universities that aims to enhance the academic field of children’s rights as an interdisciplinary field of studies and to reinforce the already existing ties between academic research and policies development.
Through its networking activities, CREAN acts as a platform for the promotion and exchange of information on scientific research among its members. The network also acts as facilitator in the field of service provision and supports its members to undertake individual and collaborative consultancy mandates about children’s human rights.
Join us for a series of though-provoking webinars and seminars organised in collaboration with CREAN member institutions. More information will be provided soon. Please save the dates and stay tuned for updates.
CREAN Statutes and information about the Letter of interest needed to become a member are available here.
The members of the Network are academic institutions located in Europe and offering programmes/courses in Children's Rights and/or Childhood Studies. To become a member of CREAN, please read the terms and conditions and statutes.
Then, to take the first step, simply fill in the registration form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. In case of any inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact the Coordination Office at: crean@unige.ch.
Members are required to be higher education institutions based in one of the Council of Europe member States. They should address children rights and childhood-related issues through teaching, scientific research and projects.
To become a member of CREAN, a letter of intent directed to the steering committee is required. The proposal is then relayed to all the members and is discussed by the steering committee. The membership request is finally voted by CREAN General Assembly. A membership fee is then required from the new member.
For further information, please refer to CREAN statutes.
