Kübra Begüm Simsek is a doctoral researcher in law and a teaching and research assistant for the Master interdisciplinaire en droits de l’enfant (MIDE) at the Centre for Children’s Rights Studies. Her academic and professional trajectory reflects a strong commitment to the promotion and protection of children’s rights across legal, institutional, and research settings.
She also serves as the Program Officer of the Children’s Rights European Academic Network (CREAN), hosted by University of Geneva, where she contributes to the coordination of the network’s activities and academic collaborations.
Prior to joining the University of Geneva, Begüm worked as a Project Officer within the Council of Europe’s Children’s Rights Division and practised law in criminal cases involving children.
She holds an Advanced Master’s Degree in International Children’s Rights Law from Leiden University (Netherlands), a Master’s in Public Law from Istanbul University (Türkiye), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Galatasaray University (Türkiye), and a Certificate in Transnational Law from the University of Geneva (Switzerland).
